At Anglia Ruskin University, this four-year programme includes a placement year, giving you the opportunity to work in a professional scientific context during your degree. You will study across the breadth of biology, from cell and molecular biology, genetics, evolution, and bioinformatics to plants, microbes, biotechnology, whole organisms, and field ecology. This range ensures that you develop both laboratory skills and fieldwork competencies, making you versatile as a scientist. You will learn to evaluate evidence, design experiments, interpret data, and communicate scientific findings, building the practical and intellectual capabilities that the biological sciences demand. Graduates go on to careers in research, environmental science, conservation, healthcare and biomedical science, agriculture and food science, public health, science communication, and education.
