BSc Business and Law
About this course
Business and law is a combination that reflects the reality of how modern organisations actually operate: every significant business decision has legal dimensions, and every legal framework shapes how businesses can act. A company forming a contract, hiring an employee, protecting its intellectual property, raising finance or facing a regulatory investigation is always operating at the intersection of commercial logic and legal constraint. Understanding both disciplines allows you to navigate that intersection with greater confidence and competence than either training alone would provide. At Anglia Ruskin University's London campus, this three-year full-time programme gives you a real understanding of how legal considerations impact virtually every aspect of management activity. You will study core areas of business management, including strategy, marketing, finance, operations and organisational behaviour, alongside the foundational areas of commercial law, including contract, employment, company and consumer law. The programme develops your ability to analyse business situations with both commercial and legal intelligence, equipping you to advise on decisions, to recognise legal risk and to engage effectively with the legal and regulatory environments that govern business activity. A typical entry tariff of 88 points makes the programme accessible to a wide range of students, and the London location gives you access to one of the world's most significant business and legal environments, with proximity to major law firms, financial institutions, commercial organisations and regulatory bodies. Graduates pursue careers in business management, commercial roles within law firms, compliance, contract management, human resources and regulatory affairs, as well as in the civil service and public sector organisations where both commercial and legal awareness are valued. Some go on to qualify as solicitors or barristers through postgraduate legal training, while others use the combination of business and legal knowledge to pursue careers in consultancy, company secretarial work or corporate governance.
