BSc Business Management with Innivation and Entrepreneurship
About this course
Business management with innovation and entrepreneurship addresses one of the most pressing challenges for modern organisations: how to generate genuinely new ideas and bring them to life in ways that create lasting value. Innovation is not simply a matter of having good ideas; it requires understanding how organisations can be structured to encourage creativity, how digital transformation is reshaping industries, and how new ventures are built and scaled from initial concept through to sustainable enterprise. This part-time BSc at Birkbeck College brings these themes together with a grounding in the core functions of business management. Birkbeck's evening-study model is designed for students who are building their degree alongside working lives, giving you the opportunity to apply what you are learning in professional contexts as you go. You will develop skills in business management across its key functions, including strategy, operations, finance and people management, alongside specialist knowledge of innovation management, digital transformation and entrepreneurial practice. The programme is designed to equip you to lead innovation within organisations and to understand where and how management contributes to business success. Critical and creative thinking, leadership and the application of technology are all central themes. Graduates of business management programmes with an innovation and entrepreneurship focus move into a wide range of roles. Entrepreneurship, product management, business development, innovation consultancy, digital transformation roles and intrapreneurial positions within larger organisations are all natural destinations. The combination of general management knowledge with a specialism in innovation also opens doors in the technology sector, where an understanding of business alongside technical knowledge is increasingly valued. Some graduates go on to found their own ventures, while others pursue postgraduate study in innovation, entrepreneurship, business administration or a specialist management field.
