BSc Business Management with Marketing
About this course
Business management and marketing are natural partners: understanding how to run an organisation and understanding how to reach and persuade customers are both essential to commercial success, and studying them together gives you a richer picture of how businesses actually work. Marketing is not simply advertising but the broader discipline of identifying what customers need, creating value for them, and communicating it effectively across digital and physical channels. At City St George's, University of London you will cover the core functions of business management, including strategy, finance, operations, human resources, and organisational behaviour, alongside a substantial marketing specialism. You will study consumer behaviour, brand management, market research, digital marketing, and campaign strategy, developing both the analytical skills to understand markets and the creative confidence to develop compelling propositions. The programme is rooted in London's position as a global business hub, and the faculty bring professional as well as academic expertise. This three-year full-time degree includes an optional sandwich year with a work placement. Spending a year working in a business environment before you complete your degree gives you practical experience, professional networks, and a much clearer sense of where your strengths lie. Employers consistently rate candidates who have completed a placement highly, and it often leads to a graduate job offer. Graduates go on to careers in marketing, brand management, communications, product management, business development, consulting, and general management across a wide range of industries. The London location and City's strong employer relationships provide good access to internship and graduate opportunities. Many graduates also continue to postgraduate study, including MBA programmes and specialist marketing master's degrees.
