BA Digital Marketing and Psychology
About this course
Digital marketing has become one of the defining professional fields of the early twenty-first century, and understanding the psychology of consumer behaviour is what gives marketers the edge in applying it effectively. Digital marketing provides the tools: social media strategy, search engine optimisation, content creation, data analytics, email marketing, and paid media. Psychology provides the underlying theory: how people process information, what drives decisions, how attention is captured and held, and how trust and persuasion operate. Together they make a programme that is both analytically rigorous and immediately applicable. At Liverpool Hope, this degree combines theory with practical examples, ensuring that learning is both academically grounded and relevant to the modern digital marketplace. You will study consumer and social psychology alongside the core disciplines of digital marketing, developing an understanding of human behaviour that informs everything from campaign design to brand communication and user experience. The programme includes a sandwich placement year and a year abroad, both of which give you professional and international experience, alongside integrated work placement opportunities. The degree runs over three years full-time, with a typical entry tariff of 104 points. Graduates of digital marketing and psychology programmes are well placed for careers in digital marketing agencies, brand management, consumer insight and research, user experience design, content strategy, and advertising. The psychology strand is particularly valuable in roles that require understanding audiences: market research, behaviour change communications, and customer experience design all benefit directly from psychological knowledge. Many graduates go on to postgraduate study in marketing, psychology, or business, or move into the industry directly, where the combination of creative and analytical skills is in strong demand.
