About this course

Environmental science applies the methods and thinking of the natural sciences to the study and management of environmental systems and the challenges they face. It draws on biology, chemistry, earth science, and ecology to understand how natural processes work, how human activities affect them, and what can be done to address the environmental problems of our time, from climate change and biodiversity loss to water quality and land degradation. The discipline is inherently interdisciplinary and practically oriented, equipping graduates to work on real environmental problems rather than simply study them. This part-time programme at UWE Bristol is accredited by the Institution of Environmental Sciences, providing professional recognition that employers in the environmental sector value.
