BSc Event Production CLN
About this course
Event production is the behind-the-scenes discipline that makes live experiences happen. Concerts, festivals, conferences, exhibitions, sporting events, and corporate occasions all depend on production teams who can manage lighting, sound, staging, logistics, crew, health and safety, and the complex technical and creative integration that brings an event to life. It is a demanding profession that requires both technical knowledge and the operational judgement to make decisions under pressure in real time. At Nottingham Trent University this BSc in event production is designed for those who want to work in the live event production industry, developing the technical skills, creative understanding, and operational knowledge that professional event production demands. You will study audio production, lighting design and operation, staging and set construction, event logistics, project management, health and safety regulations, budgeting, and the technical planning processes that underpin large-scale events. The three-year full-time programme gives you practical experience in production environments alongside the theoretical frameworks and industry knowledge that help you understand why things are done the way they are. Graduates go on to careers as production managers, technical directors, lighting and sound engineers, stage managers, riggers, event managers, and technical coordinators in the live music, corporate events, theatre, television, and festival industries. The practical skills and industry understanding the degree provides are directly applicable to professional roles, and many graduates enter the industry through internships and professional contacts made during their studies. The skills are also transferable to broadcast production, film, and any field that involves complex technical project management.
