BA Events Management with Business
About this course
Events management is a dynamic and fast-growing profession concerned with the conception, planning, delivery and evaluation of live events, ranging from corporate conferences and product launches to music festivals, sporting occasions and public exhibitions. The industry demands precise logistical coordination, supplier and contract management, financial control, marketing, health and safety compliance, and the ability to manage multiple pressures simultaneously while delivering an experience that meets the expectations of clients and audiences. Adding a business strand broadens this professional foundation into the strategic and commercial management skills that underpin every successful event business. At Chester, this three-year full-time programme combines the operational and creative dimensions of events management with a grounding in business principles including marketing, finance, strategy and entrepreneurship. You will study event design and production, venue and supplier management, risk assessment and contingency planning, sponsorship and stakeholder relations, and the legal and regulatory framework within which events operate. The programme includes a year abroad, which gives you the opportunity to experience events industries and business practices in another country, broadening your professional perspective. The typical entry tariff is 88 UCAS points. Graduates work as event coordinators, project managers, conference producers, venue managers, production managers and festival organisers in a wide range of sectors, from corporate hospitality and exhibition management to music, sport and public sector events. Many graduates build careers in event agencies, venues, charities, universities, sports bodies, destination management organisations and tourism. The business management strand opens additional pathways in marketing, operations and general management, and many graduates move into event-adjacent commercial roles as their careers develop.
