About this course

Finance, investment, and banking is a discipline concerned with the mechanisms through which capital is raised, managed, and deployed in the economy, and with the institutions and markets through which this happens. Financial accounting provides the foundation, establishing how organisations record and report their financial activities. Investment analysis extends this into the evaluation of assets, the construction of portfolios, and the assessment of risk and return. Banking brings the specific knowledge of how financial institutions operate, how credit is extended, and how the banking system is regulated and supervised. Together, these three areas provide a comprehensive grounding in the commercial financial world.
