BA International Fashion Branding
About this course
International fashion branding sits at the intersection of two of the most visible forces in the global economy: the fashion industry and the discipline of brand management. Fashion is one of the world's largest industries by value and employment, and one of the most culturally significant, expressing identity, social aspiration, and creative vision on a global scale. Brand management is the strategic discipline concerned with how fashion houses and labels build, protect, and extend their identities across international markets. Understanding both the creative and commercial dimensions of this world is what makes this degree distinctive. At Glasgow Caledonian University, this four-year full-time programme develops both creative thinking and business strategy in the context of the international fashion industry. You will study how global brands are built and managed, how fashion communicates meaning across cultural contexts, and how marketing, retail, and digital innovation are reshaping the industry. The degree includes a year abroad, giving you the opportunity to study in an international environment and to develop your understanding of how fashion operates in different national markets. The typical entry tariff of 168 points reflects the competitive nature of entry. You will develop skills in brand strategy, marketing communications, consumer behaviour analysis, and the creative thinking that the fashion industry values, as well as the cross-cultural awareness that international brand management requires. Graduates pursue careers in fashion brand management, marketing, buying, retail management, visual merchandising, fashion public relations, and e-commerce. The international character of the programme makes graduates particularly well suited to roles in global fashion houses, luxury brands, and retail organisations with significant international operations. Postgraduate study in fashion management, marketing, or luxury brand management is also a well-established route.
