MEng Mechatronic Engineering
About this course
Develop your technical expertise with Mechatronic Engineering with Integrated Master’s MEng at Keele University. Build a range of professional skills. Learn more. Mechatronics combines mechanical, electrical, electronic, and computer systems into intelligent, automated solutions transforming industries from robotics and autonomous systems to renewable energy and advanced manufacturing. Every project can improve performance, reduce environmental impact, and shape the technologies of tomorrow. This four-year integrated master’s (MEng) combines undergraduate and postgraduate study in one enhanced degree. You’ll begin with Engineering Fundamentals, building the scientific and technical knowledge to tackle complex problems. Alongside this, Engineering Skills will strengthen your practical ability through labs, workshops, and training in communication and project management, while Engineering Simulation and Mathematics will develop your precision in advanced analysis and modelling. In your fourth year, you will complete master’s-level study, advancing your expertise through specialist modules and a major research project. From your first year, you will study mechanics, materials, electrical circuits, digital electronics, programming, and introductory automation and robotics. Specialist study builds in areas such as logic systems, microcontrollers, and sensor integration, alongside CAD and control skills. As you progress, you’ll deepen your expertise in system modelling, control theory, embedded programming, and advanced manufacturing systems, applying these to complex engineering
