Structural and Architectural Engineering is a discipline that sits at the boundary of engineering and design, concerned with how buildings and structures can be made safe, elegant, and efficient at the same time. Every significant work of architecture depends on an understanding of structural forces: how loads travel through a building, how materials behave under stress, and how to resolve the tensions between what an architect imagines and what physics will permit. You will study steel, concrete, timber, and masonry as structural materials, learn to analyse frames, shells, and foundations, and engage with digital modelling tools that are central to professional practice.
