Zoology with animal management brings together the scientific study of animals in their natural contexts with the practical skills of managing animals in captive and semi-captive settings. Zoology examines the behaviour, physiology, ecology, and evolution of animals, asking how species have come to be the way they are and how they interact with the environments they inhabit. Animal management adds a professional and applied dimension, covering the husbandry, welfare, health, and enrichment of animals in zoos, wildlife parks, sanctuaries, and breeding programmes. Graduates work in zoos, wildlife parks, aquaria, bird reserves, and animal sanctuaries, as well as in the broader fields of conservation biology, wildlife management, and environmental education.
