About this course

Digital marketing has become central to how organisations of every kind connect with their audiences. Search engines, social media platforms, email, content marketing, data analytics, and paid digital advertising have transformed the marketing function from a largely creative and broadcast activity into a data-driven discipline where performance can be measured in real time and strategy adjusted accordingly. Digital marketers need to understand how online channels work, how to attract and engage audiences across them, how to measure and optimise campaigns, and how to use data to inform strategic decisions.

At Arden University this part-time distance learning BSc is accredited by the Digital Marketing Institute, a widely recognised professional body in the field. The distance learning format makes the degree accessible to students who are managing other commitments alongside their studies, whether that is existing work in marketing or an adjacent field. You will develop expertise across the major disciplines of digital marketing, including search engine optimisation, paid search and social advertising, content strategy, email marketing, web analytics, and digital consumer behaviour.

The accreditation means the qualification is recognised by employers who look for evidence of professional-standard knowledge as well as academic depth.

The programme connects theory to practice throughout, ensuring that you can apply what you are learning to real campaigns and commercial contexts rather than only understanding digital marketing at an abstract level.

Graduates move into roles in digital marketing management, search and social media marketing, content strategy, e-commerce management, digital analytics, and marketing consultancy. The field offers strong career prospects across virtually every sector, and the digital skills the programme develops are relevant to organisations ranging from global brands to small businesses and charities. Many graduates also go on to further professional development or postgraduate study in marketing or business.
