About this course

Geography embraces the study of human societies and their environment, and is one of the few subjects in which human and physical aspects of the environment are integrated. Our BSc Geography degree offers a distinctive pathway through our geography programmes that emphasises skills and techniques in scientific research, such as population data analysis, environmental modelling, and field surveys. Students are free to choose thematic modules from across the geography programme, which may include human and physical geography.

These modules reflect our disciplinary expertise across three areas of geographical research: culture, space & power; population, economy & society; and geosciences. 3% of Geography students positive assessment of the quality of the Geography course (NSS 2025) There are many exciting opportunities to study abroad, with options to spend one semester or one academic year in places such as continental Europe, the USA, Canada or Australia. Our international field trips allow students to study geography in unique places such as Malta, Mallorca and Belgium.

Accredited degree programmes contain a solid academic foundation in geographical knowledge and skills, and prepare graduates to address the needs of the world beyond higher education.
