Birkbeck’s LLB Law teaches you foundational areas of law required to move towards successfully qualifying as a lawyer or pursuing other professional pursuits in your career. The LLB Law at Birkbeck prepares you for a career in legal practice along with teaching you the transferable skills and specialist knowledge needed for a broad range of other professional pursuits. You will learn the seven foundations of legal knowledge essential for professional qualification: Contract Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Criminal Law, Land Law, Tort Law, Trusts, Law of the European Union along with Legal Systems and Methods, and Jurisprudence.
Teaching on this course embraces a range of disciplinary approaches, develops your skills in critical thinking, and allows you to explore critical approaches to law in its political, social and historical contexts. You can also choose option modules to adapt the course to your interests or career aspirations, including modules related to the environment and environmental law to allow you to graduate with an LLB Law with Environmental Studies.
