Accounting and Finance with a year in Industry

Accounting and finance underpin every business decision and drive progress across global industries. Understanding how organisations record and report their financial position, and how capital is allocated across markets and within firms, is fundamental to commerce, policy, and the management of risk. This four-year full-time degree at the University of Kent combines rigorous technical training in both disciplines with a year spent working in industry, giving you the chance to put your learning into practice and build professional connections before you graduate.

You will study the principles of financial accounting, management accounting, and auditing alongside corporate finance, investment theory, and financial markets. The programme develops your ability to work with quantitative data, to model and interpret financial information, and to apply theoretical frameworks to real business situations. The year in industry gives you direct experience of working in a finance or accounting environment, helping you understand how the concepts you have studied operate in practice and making your CV considerably stronger on graduation. Entry typically requires around 120 UCAS tariff points.
