About this course

Zoology is the scientific study of animals, encompassing their anatomy, physiology, behaviour, ecology, evolutionary history, and conservation. It is a discipline that takes seriously the diversity and complexity of animal life, from the molecular mechanisms within individual cells through to the dynamics of entire ecosystems. Zoologists ask how animals are built, how they function, how they evolved, how they interact with each other and with their environments, and what needs to be done to conserve species and habitats in the face of growing human pressure on the natural world.
