Chemistry is the central science, connecting the physical sciences to biology, medicine, materials, and the environment. Chemists work at scales from the subatomic, determining how electrons govern reactivity, to the industrial, designing processes that produce fuels, pharmaceuticals, and materials at enormous scale.
