About this course

Civil engineering is the oldest of the engineering disciplines and in many ways the most directly visible: it is responsible for the roads, bridges, tunnels, railways, dams, ports, flood defences and buildings that constitute the physical infrastructure of modern societies. As that infrastructure ages, as populations grow and concentrate in cities, and as climate change puts new stresses on water systems and coastal environments, the demand for civil engineers who can design, build and maintain robust and sustainable infrastructure has never been higher. At Aston University this four-year programme is an integrated masters degree, combining undergraduate and masters-level study in a single qualification that takes you to the depth of engineering expertise required for professional practice.
