About this course

Energy engineering is a discipline that addresses one of the defining challenges of our time. The global energy crisis is at the forefront of many people's minds, and climate change is accelerating and defining our race towards a net zero society. Energy engineers design, develop, and optimise the systems that generate, store, transmit, and use energy, working across renewable and conventional energy technologies, grid infrastructure, energy efficiency in buildings and industry, and the modelling of complex energy systems. At Loughborough University, this three-year full-time programme develops your understanding of energy systems from their thermodynamic and electrical foundations through to the specific technologies and policy contexts of the energy transition. You will study heat transfer, fluid mechanics, power generation, electrical systems, control engineering, and renewable energ
