About this course
Fashion design is the creative and technical discipline concerned with conceiving and producing clothing and accessories that reflect cultural moments, individual identity and commercial realities. At its best, fashion design is both art and industry: it requires genuine creative vision alongside the technical skills of pattern cutting, construction, material selection and production knowledge, and a deep understanding of the consumer, the market and the cultural context in which garments will be worn. It is a discipline that rewards originality, discipline and the ability to turn ideas into tangible, wearable objects.
