Psychology is the scientific study of mind and behaviour, one of the most wide-ranging and intellectually engaging disciplines in higher education. It asks fundamental questions about how people perceive the world, how memory, attention, and language work, how emotions and motivations shape what we do, how individuals develop from infancy through adulthood, how social contexts influence our thinking and choices, and what happens when psychological processes go wrong. Because human behaviour is the central concern of so many professions and organisations, psychological understanding is genuinely valued across a very broad range of contexts.
