About this course

Psychology is the scientific study of behaviour and mental processes, encompassing perception, cognition, emotion, personality, behaviour, social relationships and the biological systems that underlie them. It is a discipline that sits at the intersection of natural science and social science, using experimental methods and statistical analysis to ask questions about human experience that are both rigorously empirical and deeply humanistic. Studying psychology develops your ability to think critically about evidence, to evaluate competing explanations of behaviour and to understand the research process from design through to interpretation.
