Sports journalism sits at the intersection of two things that command enormous public attention: sport and the media that covers it. It requires the storytelling and investigative instincts of a journalist alongside a deep engagement with sport as a cultural and social phenomenon. The best sports journalists do more than report results. They find the human stories behind the headlines, hold powerful institutions to account, and help audiences understand sport in its full complexity.
