About this course

Animation is one of the most technically and creatively demanding art forms, asking practitioners to master the craft of creating the illusion of life through sequential images across a range of techniques, from hand-drawn and stop-motion animation to three-dimensional computer-generated work and motion graphics. It is a discipline where artistic vision and technical skill must work together, and where the ability to develop ideas from concept through to finished production is as important as any individual technical competency. The four-year full-time Animation with Foundation programme at the University of Gloucestershire provides a structured pathway for students who want additional preparation before entering the main degree. The foundation element gives you the space to develop your visual skills, technical knowledge, and creative confidence before committing to the full programme.
