Psychology as a science asks some of the most fundamental questions about human experience: how do we perceive and interpret the world around us, how do memory and learning work, what drives motivation and emotion, and how do individual minds interact with social contexts and biological processes? It is a discipline that combines the rigour of experimental science with engagement in questions that matter directly to every human being, and at its best it develops both analytical precision and a deep appreciation for the complexity of the people it studies.
