About this course
Biology is the science of life in all its forms, from the molecular machinery of individual cells to the complex interactions of ecosystems spanning continents. It seeks to understand how organisms are built, how they function, how they reproduce and evolve, and how they relate to one another and to their environment. As a discipline it has never been more relevant: biological knowledge underpins medicine, conservation, agriculture, biotechnology, and our responses to some of the most urgent challenges facing the planet. At the University of Bath, the BSc in Biology runs over three years full-time and provides a thorough grounding in the core areas of the subject before allowing you to pursue depth in the areas that most interest you. In your final year you will undertake a capstone project and a grand challenge unit that asks you to engage with problems that extend beyond the boundarie
