About this course
Engineering in its broadest sense is the application of scientific and mathematical principles to design and build things that work. This programme at York takes an intentionally flexible approach, developing your knowledge of electronic, electrical, mechanical, and mechatronic principles so that you graduate as an engineer with breadth, not just depth in a single narrow specialisation. The course recognises that today's most significant engineering challenges, from clean energy to intelligent systems, require people who can think across traditional disciplinary boundaries. At York this three-year full-time programme includes a sandwich year, giving you the opportunity to spend time in a professional engineering environment and develop the practical experience that complements your academic learning.
