Fashion design is the creative and technical practice of conceiving, developing, and producing clothing and accessories, and it is a discipline that sits at the crossroads of art, craft, commerce, and culture. Fashion designers need to understand garment construction, textiles, pattern cutting, and the production processes through which ideas become wearable objects, as well as the cultural contexts that give fashion meaning and the commercial realities of an industry that operates at global scale. It is a field that rewards both creative vision and practical precision.
