BA Business Enterprise and Marketing
About this course
Business enterprise and marketing is a degree that combines an entrepreneurial orientation with the specific discipline of marketing, examining not just how organisations are created and grown but how they communicate with and attract the customers and stakeholders they need to thrive. Enterprise thinking asks you to identify opportunities, take calculated risks, manage resources, and build sustainable ventures. Marketing asks how organisations understand their audiences, develop compelling propositions, and deliver consistent value across multiple channels and touchpoints. The two complement each other naturally, because successful ventures depend on being able to reach and persuade the right people. At the University of Strathclyde you will study strategy, entrepreneurship, consumer behaviour, brand management, digital marketing, market research, and the financial and operational foundations of running an organisation. The four-year degree is designed to develop both commercial awareness and the ability to think critically about business decisions. The programme includes a year abroad, giving you the chance to study in an international context and develop the global perspective that contemporary businesses increasingly require. Graduates from this degree are well positioned for roles in marketing management, brand management, digital marketing, market research, and communications across a wide range of industries. The enterprise dimension also equips graduates to start their own ventures or take on commercial development roles within organisations. Many graduates join graduate training schemes in large companies, while others go directly into marketing agencies, consultancies, or entrepreneurial environments. Postgraduate study in marketing, business administration, or entrepreneurship is a common next step for those who want to develop specialist expertise or move into senior management roles.
