BA Business Management and Marketing
About this course
Business Management and Marketing is a degree that recognises what professional practice has long known: that effective management and effective marketing are not separate concerns but deeply interconnected disciplines. Management provides the strategic, financial, and operational frameworks within which organisations make decisions. Marketing is the function through which organisations understand their customers, position their products and services, and communicate their value. Understanding both gives you the ability to see commercial questions from multiple angles and to contribute to organisations at a level that combines breadth with genuine depth. At Nottingham Trent University, this three-year full-time programme develops your knowledge of core management disciplines alongside a focused education in marketing theory and practice. You will study consumer behaviour, market research, digital marketing, branding, communications strategy, and campaign management, alongside business strategy, finance, human resource management, and operations. A year abroad is built into the programme, giving you the opportunity to study in a different national context and to bring an international perspective to your understanding of both marketing and management. NTU has strong connections with the business and marketing community and a clear emphasis on producing graduates who are ready to contribute from day one. You will develop analytical, creative, and communicative skills throughout the programme, learning to interpret market data, design marketing strategies, manage projects, and present ideas convincingly to different audiences. Graduates pursue careers in brand management, digital marketing, account management, market research, product management, and general business management across a wide range of organisations and sectors. Many enter graduate training schemes with large organisations or join agencies and consultancies where marketing and management skills are both valued. Some continue to postgraduate study in marketing, business, or digital communications.
