BA Business Studies and Marketing
About this course
Business studies and marketing is a combination that gives you the broad understanding of how organisations work alongside the specialist knowledge of how they communicate, differentiate themselves, and connect with their customers and communities. Business studies covers the full range of management disciplines, including strategy, finance, operations, human resources, and organisational behaviour, while marketing adds the creative and analytical skills needed to understand audiences, develop campaigns, and build the brand relationships that sustain long-term commercial success. At the University of Stirling, this four-year full-time degree develops your expertise in both strands in an integrated way, drawing on Stirling Business School's research strengths and its strong connections with industry. A year abroad is built into the programme, giving you the opportunity to study at an international partner institution and to develop the global perspective on business and marketing practice that is increasingly expected by employers. Stirling's campus environment and its location in central Scotland provide a pleasant and well-connected context for studying both subjects. Graduates from Business Studies and Marketing programmes are well placed for careers across the full range of marketing and management roles. Digital marketing, brand management, communications, product marketing, market research, and commercial management are all direct destinations. The business foundation that the degree provides is also valuable in management roles beyond the marketing function, in consultancy, strategy, and general management. Many graduates move into graduate management training programmes, specialist marketing agencies, or into entrepreneurial ventures where both marketing and business knowledge are immediately useful. For those drawn to further study, the degree provides a strong foundation for postgraduate programmes in marketing, business, or management. The typical entry tariff is 168 points.
