BA Events Management
About this course
Events management is the discipline concerned with the planning, coordination, and delivery of events at every scale, from intimate corporate gatherings to major festivals, sporting spectacles, and awards ceremonies. The UK events industry is one of the world's largest and most diverse, encompassing music, sport, culture, corporate hospitality, and public events, and the people who can plan, promote, and produce experiences that bring people together are consistently in demand. At Leeds Beckett University, this three-year full-time programme puts you at the heart of this dynamic world. You will learn from academic staff with real industry experience, developing knowledge of event planning, logistics, marketing, risk management, financial management, and the operational realities of delivering events in different contexts. The programme takes a creative, hands-on approach to teaching and assessment, recognising that events management is a practical discipline where learning by doing is central. The inclusion of a sandwich placement year, a year abroad, and work placements means you will have direct professional experience and international exposure before you graduate, both of which are significant advantages in a competitive industry where real-world experience is what employers look for first. Graduates work as event coordinators, event managers, festival producers, venue managers, and in hospitality management, conference management, and experiential marketing roles. The UK's position as a global powerhouse in events provides strong domestic employment opportunities, and the international experience from the year abroad opens doors to roles across Europe and beyond. The practical and organisational skills developed in events management also transfer to roles in project management, public relations, and marketing. Postgraduate study in events management, tourism, or marketing is an option for those who wish to develop their expertise or move into more senior leadership roles.
