Global affairs, politics, and international relations with history is a combination that gives you both the analytical frameworks for understanding how the world is currently organised and governed, and the historical depth to understand how it came to be that way. International relations examines the interactions between states and other actors across national borders, asking why conflicts occur, how cooperation is achieved, and what drives the rise and fall of great powers. Politics investigates how authority is organised and exercised within states. History situates both within a temporal perspective, showing how present structures and problems are shaped by past decisions and contingencies. At the University of Chester, this three-year full-time programme includes a sandwich year, a year abroad, and work placement opportunities, giving you a combination of academic breadth and substantial practical and international experience.
