About this course
Graphic Design is one of the most pervasive and consequential creative disciplines of the modern world. Virtually every visual message you encounter, whether in print, on a screen, on packaging, or in a public space, has been shaped by a designer's decisions about typography, layout, colour, image, and form. Graphic designers are visual communicators, responsible for translating ideas, information, and identities into images and arrangements that connect with audiences. The discipline has expanded dramatically as digital technology has transformed both the tools of design and the environments in which it is received. At the University of Lincoln, this three-year, full-time programme includes a sandwich year and work placement opportunities. Graduates of Graphic Design work as graphic designers, brand designers, art directors, UX designers, motion graphic artists, illustrators, and design managers in agencies, in-house design teams, publishing houses, and the technology sector. Many build freelance practices alongside employed work, developing long-term client relationships across a range of industries. The visual thinking and communication skills the degree develops are also valuable in education, arts management, and product design.
