BSc International Business Management
About this course
International business management is the study of how organisations operate and compete across national borders, addressing the strategic, financial, cultural, and operational challenges that come with doing business in a global environment. It prepares you for a world in which supply chains, talent, capital, and customers move across borders as a matter of course, and where organisations that cannot navigate cultural and regulatory complexity are at a significant disadvantage. At the University of Brighton this three-year full-time programme is available with a range of options that extend its duration, including a foundation year that provides the academic and business foundations needed before the main degree, a sandwich year with a work placement, and a year abroad. The combination of these structural features means the full programme can be as internationally rich and professionally developed as any business degree in the UK, with the foundation year making it accessible to students from a wide range of backgrounds. You will study strategic management, international marketing, cross-cultural management, financial accounting, economics, and business ethics, alongside the specific challenges of operating in different national and regional markets. The international orientation of the programme is not simply a topic of study but something that shapes how the degree is delivered and experienced. Graduates go on to careers in international business, export management, global supply chain and logistics, international marketing, consultancy, finance, and general management across a wide range of industries. The combination of professional placement experience and international study, where taken, gives graduates a particularly strong foundation in a competitive graduate market. Many also continue to postgraduate study in international business, management, or MBA programmes.
