MBus International Business with Spanish
About this course
International business with Spanish is a degree designed to produce graduates who can operate effectively in international commercial environments and who can do so with the additional asset of proficiency in one of the world's most widely spoken languages. International business examines how companies operate across borders, how global markets are structured and managed, and how economic, political, and cultural differences between countries affect commercial decisions and strategies. Spanish adds access to markets and cultures spanning Spain and the whole of Latin America, making it one of the most globally significant language combinations a business student can develop. At the University of Aberdeen, this five-year, full-time MBus programme provides a broad understanding of international business alongside serious study of Spanish as a language, with the programme designed to equip you for leadership in internationally operating organisations. You will develop knowledge of international business operations and their economic, political, and social context, alongside the linguistic and cultural competence that allows you to engage with Spanish-speaking partners, clients, and colleagues on their own terms. The programme includes a year abroad, providing immersive experience in a Spanish-speaking country that deepens both your language skills and your understanding of the culture and commercial environment. The typical entry tariff is 168 UCAS points. Graduates from international business with Spanish programmes are sought by multinational companies, consultancy firms, trade organisations, the diplomatic service, international NGOs, and public bodies with international remits. The combination of business training at master's level, genuine Spanish language competence, and a year spent in a Spanish-speaking country is a distinctive and genuinely competitive package. Postgraduate study or professional development in international management, MBA programmes, or Hispanic studies is available for those who wish to develop further.
