Real estate surveying is the professional discipline concerned with the valuation, management, investment and development of land and property. Property is one of the largest asset classes in the world, and professionals who understand how real estate markets work, how assets are valued and how developments are appraised and managed are in demand across a wide range of organisations, from investment funds and property companies to local authorities and housing associations. At Edinburgh Napier University, this part-time programme includes a sandwich placement year, a year abroad and a work placement, combining professional and international experience with academic rigour. You will study property valuation, real estate investment analysis, property law and management, planning and development, building technology, sustainability and the commercial and financial frameworks within which property decisions are made. The programme develops both the technical skills of the surveying profession and the commercial judgement needed to advise clients and manage assets effectively in a dynamic market.
