About this course

Electrical and electronic engineering is one of the broadest and most fundamental engineering disciplines, encompassing the generation and distribution of electrical power, the design of electronic circuits and devices, the engineering of communications systems, and the development of the control and embedded systems that operate in everything from smartphones to aircraft. Its practitioners work at the frontier of some of the most significant technological challenges of the present, including the transition to renewable energy, the development of autonomous vehicles, and the design of next-generation communications networks. At the University of Sheffield this five-year MEng programme includes a foundation year before the main engineering curriculum begins, ensuring students have a thorough grounding in the sciences and mathematics that engineering requires. You will study power systems
