Interior architecture and venue design is a discipline concerned with the design of interior spaces, whether domestic, commercial, hospitality, or entertainment environments, with a particular specialism in the distinctive design challenges of venues: spaces built for performance, events, sport, and the live experience economy. Interior architecture differs from interior decoration in its engagement with the structural, technical, and spatial dimensions of design, while venue design adds an additional layer of programming and experiential thinking, asking how spaces can be configured and equipped to serve the specific demands of different live and hosted events.
