It is a field that combines spatial thinking, material knowledge, colour and lighting theory, and the history and theory of design with the practical ability to move from concept to specification to realised space. Interior designers work across residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, and public sector projects, shaping the environments in which people live, work, shop, and spend their leisure time.
