Journalism is the profession that holds power to account, informs citizens about events that matter, and gives communities a shared picture of the world they inhabit. In a media environment that is changing faster than at any point since the arrival of television, the skills and values of good journalism, accuracy, fairness, independence, and the capacity to engage diverse audiences, are more important than ever, even as the platforms and formats through which journalism is delivered continue to evolve.
