Museum studies and archaeology together provide an unusually well-rounded preparation for a career in the heritage sector. Archaeology gives you the skills to investigate the physical evidence of the past, interpreting material remains and understanding what they tell us about the people who made and used them. Museum studies addresses how objects and collections are preserved, interpreted, and communicated to public audiences, examining the professional, ethical, and curatorial dimensions of working with cultural heritage. Studied together, they connect the production of knowledge about the past with the institutions through which that knowledge is shared.
