About this course

Mental health nursing is a profession dedicated to supporting people experiencing the full range of psychiatric and psychological difficulties, from anxiety, depression, and psychosis to personality disorders, eating disorders, and the mental health dimensions of substance use and physical illness. Mental health nurses work in close therapeutic relationships with service users, providing assessment, care planning, therapeutic interventions, and advocacy across inpatient wards, crisis services, community mental health teams, and primary care. It is a demanding and deeply rewarding profession that draws on both scientific knowledge and highly developed interpersonal skills.
