Physics with Theoretical Physics is a degree for those who want to understand the deepest principles governing the natural world. Where experimental physics engages closely with what can be measured and tested in the laboratory, theoretical physics works at the level of mathematical frameworks: constructing and refining the models that explain phenomena from the behaviour of subatomic particles to the large-scale structure of the cosmos. The two approaches are inseparable in practice, and together they define one of humanity's most sustained and successful intellectual projects. At Imperial College London, this three-year full-time degree is taught within one of the world's leading physics departments. You will cover classical and quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and special and general relativity, building a comprehensive foundation in the fundamental laws of nature
