Chemistry as a science concerns the fundamental nature of matter, exploring how atoms and molecules combine, interact, and transform, and using this understanding to explain the physical world, develop new materials, and create the medicines and technologies that shape modern life. The International Programme at UCL is designed for students coming from international educational systems and structured to provide an enhanced transition into UK degree-level chemistry, including an additional year of study that ensures all students have a thorough foundation in both chemistry and related sciences before moving into the main degree curriculum.
