About this course

Computer engineering is the discipline that bridges electronic hardware and software, combining the physical design of computing systems with the programming and algorithmic thinking that determines what those systems can do. It is at the heart of every digital device people interact with daily, from smartphones and games consoles to medical devices, surveillance systems, and the embedded computers in vehicles and industrial equipment. As computing becomes ever more deeply embedded in every aspect of modern life, the need for engineers who understand both the hardware and software dimensions of computing systems continues to grow. At Queen's University Belfast this four-year full-time MEng undergraduate masters programme is one of the few research-led computing degrees in Queen's that includes the design of both electronic hardware and software. You will study the principles of digital
