About this course

Acting at conservatoire level is among the most intensive and immersive forms of arts education available, designed to develop the full range of technical and creative skills that professional performance demands in a sustained and highly structured environment. A conservatoire acting programme differs from university drama courses in its vocational focus, high contact hours and commitment to training the whole performer, combining voice work, movement, text interpretation, character analysis and performance practice in an integrated programme that leaves little room for half-measures. At Leeds Conservatoire, this three-year full-time programme is a high-contact vocational training course taught in six academic terms, with contact time averaging thirty hours per week across thirty teaching weeks each year.
