Architecture is one of the most demanding and multifaceted creative professions. It requires the ability to design spaces that are functional, beautiful, structurally sound, environmentally responsible, and responsive to the needs of the people who will use them. Architects must draw on art and design, structural and environmental engineering, history and theory, materials science, and an understanding of the social and cultural contexts in which buildings exist. The training is long and rigorous, and professional registration requires sustained achievement across both academic and professional practice.
